Hello, Friends!

My Journey to Notus Elementary!

I was born in a (then) very rural town in San Diego County, Ramona, CA, and I am the youngest of five girls. When I was 12, my parents moved our family to Oak Harbor, WA.  I attended Oak Harbor High School, where I met my husband, and we graduated in 1986. My husband joined the Navy after high school and I adjusted well to military life.

My husband and I have three grown children. Our oldest son is a mechanic, our daughter graduated from BSU and has since moved to North Carolina with her husband, and our youngest son graduated high school in 2015, and currently works in the food manufacturing industry. Both boys are Eagle Scouts as well and our amazing daughter, we are incredibly blessed to announce, is a brain cancer survivor of nine years, and most recently, an ovarian cancer survivor.

I have lived in Caldwell, Idaho for the past 16 years. During the years of arriving in Idaho and becoming a teacher, I worked for the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections as the school registrar.  Before moving to the gorgeous state of Idaho, my family roamed all over during my husband’s 21-year Naval career. We have lived in Sasebo, Japan for three years; Bremerton, WA for two years; San Diego, CA twice for a total of six years; and Ft. Meade, MD for three years.

I graduated from the University of Phoenix in May 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education K-8.  I am currently working on my Master's degree in Instruction and Curriculum through Eastern Washington University.

Some personal info about me, I love animals, especially dogs, foxes, singing, swimming, hiking, reading, movies, cooking, going to the theater, and I have a crazy collection of penguin items!

Proud to be a Pirate!
